Unveiling the Signs: Recognizing Eating Disorders

 
 

Before asking for help you need to know, do you have an eating disorder?

It is necessary to create awareness for this issue because someone is struggling with an eating disorder. Someone is in pain, confused, and needs to know there is help. You may not know you need help.

Today I am discussing about some general symptoms of eating disorders. I am talking about things to look out for and things to consider. Eating disorders suck. It is a living hell. You are consumed with what you are going to eat. You worry about how you will restrict or how you will burn calories.

It begins because you feel fat and your body is disgusting. You want to look a certain way or achieve a certain weight. You worry about having a thigh gap or 6-pack abs. You are willing to do anything to look this way. However it becomes an obsession and you never feel good enough. You worry about the next meal, and when you are not eating you worry about your next meal. You constantly count calories. If you ate too much you worry about how you will burn the calories you consumed. If you have an eating disorder you may experience the following:

Learn to identify the telltale signs of an eating disorder, from obsessive thoughts about food and body image to feelings of worthlessness and guilt surrounding eating habits.

  • You feel fat. You are not satifised with you body.

  • You are currently dieting. You are restricting meals and calories

  • You feel fat and disgusting after eating.

  • You are depressed. You are not happy. You are in a living hell.

  • You hate your body and struggle to love yourself.

  • You feel worthless.

  • You feel guilty and shamed while eating. You feel this way after eating.

  • You hate your body.

  • You want to fade away. Maybe if you fall asleep you will not wake up.

  • You are scared.

  • You are mentally exhausted from fighting yourself all day long.
