Empowering Parents: A Collaborative Approach to Supporting Youth in Therapy

This presentation will provide therapists with practical strategies and tools for engaging and supporting the parents of children and adolescents in therapy. It will focus on strengthening the parent-therapist alliance, offering clear and compassionate guidance, and equipping families with actionable resources to reinforce therapeutic progress at home. Emphasis will be placed on effective communication, psychoeducation, and helping parents implement tailored recommendations with confidence and consistency. Participants will leave with a framework they can immediately integrate into their work with families to enhance outcomes and foster lasting change.
Get to Know Our Speaker Dr. Daisy Blagg
Dr. Blagg is a Licensed Psychologist and a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology. She also holds two Master’s degrees in General and Clinical Psychology. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology from the University of Texas at Dallas. Dr. Blagg began her career as a special education teacher, before continuing her education. After becoming a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology, she spent the following 13 years working with children, ages 2-21, diagnosing and treating a variety of learning, emotional, and behavioral disorders. Dr. Blagg has specialized training and experience in diagnosing Autism Spectrum Disorders.
In addition to working with children and their families, Dr. Blagg completed her post-doctoral fellowship in adult neuropsychology, conducting neuropsychological evaluations for dementia, Alzheimer’s, adult ADHD, and psychological disorders. Working with families to coordinate care and accurately diagnose individuals is Dr. Blagg’s passion.
