Whew! You made it to the weekend. Congrats. Perhaps you had a rough, long week, but you made it! All the stress of the week or the struggle you had this week can impact how you feel about yourself. It is possible you are stuck with negative thinking. It is possible you are thinking about all the mistakes you made this week.
It is time to leave those mistakes in the past and move forward this weekend with positivity and confidence. Here are 3 things you can do right now to give you confidence, self-esteem, and improve your thinking.
1. Write down 5-10 things that are good about you. Grab a pen and paper and write down good things about yourself. Are you a good person? Are you friendly? Perhaps you are a good listener? Write it all down. Don’t forget to add, “I am smart”, “I am a hard worker”. You know those things are sometimes true, so include them in your list.
2. Take that list and read the items out loud while you look at yourself in the mirror. This will seem awkward at first. Reading these things to yourself helps this positive thinking stick. It tells the brain to remember all that is good and great about you.
3. Move your body. Moving your body gives you energy. Now take that energy and while you move thank your body for the freedom and the ability to move. Ponder on the things on your list and recall all that is good about you.
Doing these 3 things will give you the energy and motivation you need to move into the weekend with positivity and confidence. Try these 3 things everyday to keep your confidence growing. Enjoy your weekend feeling good!
