Katy Alaniz (she/her) is a Licensed Professional Counselor, practicing from a feminist HAES approach. She earned her Bachelors degree in Psychology at Dallas Baptist University and then completed her Masters degree in Professional Counseling at Amberton University. She has worked in the field of eating disorders for 5 years, at both the residential and outpatient levels. She has obtained her certification in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and continues working toward CEDS certification. Katy has a passion for working with the polyam/kink community, eating disorders, and the LGBTQIA community. Full-time, Katy works for Center for Discovery as the UR Recovery Care Coordinator for all eating disorder outpatient locations in Texas. Part time, she sees clients all across Texas via telehealth. Her favorite show is The Office, she’s a 4 on the enneagram, and fresh hydrangeas and good coffee will always put a smile on her face!
